Volunteer for the Heart of the Islands Bike Tour! | Back to the Bike Tour
Volunteers receive free lunch from Skinny Pancake, Tour entrance and a Vermont Farm Tours “You are Where You Eat” T-shirt. There will be a volunteer orientation (with refreshments) Thursday July 7, 7-9pm at Chris’s house:
278 North St, Winooski
Plan on arriving at Snow Farm Vineyard (map) at 8am on Saturday, July 9 for set-up. Registration opens at 9am; tour begins at 10am. We'll try to have all riders back between 2 and 4pm.

Tour Ambassadors (4)
Before and after the tour: 8:00am-10:30am & 3:30pm-4:30pm
- Help set up registration area
- Work at registration area from 9am-10:30am (welcome and sign in tour participants)
- Clean up registration area after tour (3:30-4:30pm)
On-Call Support (1)
Before/during/after tour: 8:00am-4:00pm
Extra compensation: Vermont Farm Tours tote filled w/wine, cheese, & local treats
- Stay at registration area during tour
- Receive phone calls asking for directions or emergency assistance (i.e. lost or broken down riders)
- Drive sag wagon to pick up broken down or lost bikers and return them to the ride or registration area
- Must be comfortable driving a 12-passenger van and an able multi-tasker
Course Marshal (7)
Before/during tour: 8am-3pm
- Help set up (8am) and answer questions during registration (9pm)
- Ride with bikers, answer route questions, help with minor repairs, carry extra water and first aid
- 1 or 2 with group + 1 sweep for each route
- Must have current CPR/First Aid certification and have basic knowledge of bike repair
