About the Tour

Bike to the heart of the Champlain Islands on July 14th with Vermont Farm Tours during the fourth annual Open Farm and Studio Weekend. Choose a 10 or 25-mile route with stops at a variety of island farms, art studios, and vineyards. Registration opens 9am, tour begins 10am.

All routes include a mix of lakeside views and scenic back roads. Wide shoulders on most paved stretches, dirt roads, and mild hills make for unmatched cycling. There will be plenty of places to fill your water bottle, rest, and sample local eats along the route.

Need a bike? Rentals available at Allenholm Farm. Ask about delivery to Snow Farm Vineyard.

Lunch
Great lunch is available for purchase at Snow Farm Vineyard from Skinny Pncake and along the way at Wally's Place Bagel & Deli and the Champlain Islands Farmers Market.

Keeping it Local
Vermont Farm Tours is donating 10% of the total proceeds from the Heart of the Islands Bike Tour to Local Motion, a member-supported non-profit organization forging a culture of active transportation and recreation in northwestern VT. We are also working with Native Energy to make the event carbon neutral!

PLEASE READ The Heart of the Islands Bike Tour is a rain or shine event. Please come prepared for sun, wind, or rain. Bike helmets are required for all riders.

While Vermont Farm Tours will do everything possible to make your bike tour a safe and comfortable experience (route signage, on-call support, ride-along tour marshals, free massage), we cannot control the weather and road conditions/hazards (cars, potholes, stray goats, etc). Please ride smart!
